Ae. Albopictus
On the website: Saffron, pimento, cardamom, beeswax, cajeput, tomato leaf, geranium, and pink pepper honey. (Found in Limited Editions: Metamorphosis.)
In the bottle: Geranium, cardamom, and honey/beeswax.
Wet on skin: It's turning...astringent. Medicinal.
Drydown (3 minutes after application): It warms up slightly with the cardamom, but it's still astringent.
Drydown (5 minutes after initial drydown): Same as above.
Overall impression: Nope, not for me. It turns like bug spray over chai tea. :-/
Bite Me
On the website: Croquembouche with almond silk and a drizzle of caramel. (Found in Limited Editions.)
In the bottle: Sweet caramel drizzled over almond-laden baklava, saturated with rosewater.
Wet on skin: Bitter almond, quickly being overtaken by soapy rose. Drat. I was hoping my body chemistry would change enough that rose wouldn't go soapy on me anymore.
Drydown (3 minutes after application): Eclipse, but sans the cinnamon spice, and turned into soap.
Drydown (5 minutes after initial drydown): Pretty, but the rose turns to soap on my skin.
Overall impression: If this didn't have rose in it, I'd love it! I'm a huge foodie-scent-lover, but rose is the kiss of death in most scents for me. Damn.
Chaos Theory VI: Version 7/Vanilla #63
On the website: Every bottle of Chaos Theory is different. This take on Chaos Theory was based in vanilla. (Found in Limited Edition.)
In the bottle: Vanilla boozy. Almost like a cream soda turned into alcohol.
Wet on skin: Surprisingly light and stays close to the skin.
Drydown (3 minutes after application): Boozy vanilla, like vanilla-flavored rum.
Drydown (5 minutes after initial drydown): Absolutely no throw on me, but surprisingly wearable. I would probably lick whoever was wearing this!
Overall impression: Um...I'll be in my bunk. VERY SEXY! I'll be keeping this one for a while to see how often I reach for it (I'm destashing to pay for vet bills), but I really do love this one!
Pussy Moth
On the website: Orange blossom honey, brown sugar, saffron, tonka absolute, and tobacco leaf. (Found in Limited Editions: Metamorphosis.)
In the bottle: Lighter than what I was expecting. This smells way more high-floral
Wet on skin: Smoking pure tobacco cigarettes under a blooming orange tree on a cool day!
Drydown (3 minutes after application): Turns a little warmer, but with sweet florals floating through.
Drydown (5 minutes after initial drydown): Even though there is no musk listed, it smells like the lingering scent of cigarette smoke and orange blossoms on warm skin. As if I had smoked a cigarette, then crushed an orange blossom in my fingers.
Overall impression: It stays a close to the skin, so that I have to put my nose right against my arm to smell this scent. I don't think this is a "me" kind of scent, but it's not unpleasing. I'll have to let it go, though.
