Realm of the Ice Queen

Dec 21, 2008 15:14

Here are some pics of my front and back yard from last week's ice storm. We are getting another foot of ice and snow today so I'm just planning on staying close to the hearth fire and trying not to think about driving through this mess tomorrow! At least we still have electricity this week-end (keeping my fingers crossed) Brrrrr!

Thanks, It really does look like a winter wonderland in our woods. Now that I have electricity back again and most of the broken branches have been moved off the road, I can finally start enjoying the beauty of it all.

Just wow! These are the most beautiful images that capture that quiet magic of winter. Hope you don't mind if I swipe a few to use as a wallpaper on my computer?

It really does look like Narnia. But hey, can you please sent the faun my way?

Please feel free to swipe away! Narnia is beautiful to look at from my window but I fear I will become of statue made of ice if I stay out here too long.
Sorry to say I haven't seen your faun, but if I do I'll send him your way with some solstice cookies and a bottle of merlot!

Thank you!!!

If he looks like James McAvoy, I'll come and get him:)

Thanks, I spent most of this week-end inside because the roads were just too treacherous with all the ice and snow.
I hope your area didn't get hit too hard and that you have been staying safe and warm as well.

These are beautiful pictures. I love pictures of winter - the snow and ice seem so magical and peaceful, and yet it's also potentially very deadly. I've been looking at your journal and I hope you don't mind if I add you.

Hi Bellakara,
I haven't updated my LJ for a very long time but I'm glad you like these pics from last year's ice storm. Please feel free to add me as I plan to get back to journaling again at some point.
Cheers,
Rosemary
