Say on, brother, say on! We really have gotten ourselves into an untenable position here. The top 1% of the food chain is a tiny minority, and yet, they're the ones in charge. Economic apartheid, anyone? So what is the answer? The masses are too brain-washed and/or apathetic to change the leadership in a meaningful way at the polls. What's next, I wonder? What can we do to effect the sorts of changes you propose, which I agree are precisely what is indicated? These are the questions that keep me up at night.
Nice question. Wish I knew. For years, I tried to go the third party route, but as long as the money system is how it is for funding politics, that's untenable. In fact, politics in general seem like a lost cause, because politicians and political offices have become functionaries of the same Big Money that seems to be the problem.
As long as the folks with the money can ensure that policies that benefit them, shield their assets, and create a "free markets for the poor/socialism for the rich situation, then... eeek.
I think a good start would be finding a method to overturning the Supreme Court decision that found corporations to be persons under the law. I'd pull a few corporate charters, put on a maximum wage, etc., etc., too, but that seems unlikely to happen.
I'm still in the "education, not revolution" mindset. But I'm edging ever closer to the line... And in the meantime, I try not to screw things up any worse than they're already screwed...

Or, you know, just more posts of any sort. Since up until yesterday, I'd been pretty much MIA for months...
