I haven't update in a little while, so I thought I'd share pictures of another family that lives in my main neighbourhood. The pictures are older, so I apologize for them not being the same size. ( 61 pictures under the cut )
It turned out to be a BS compression problem. I wasn't noticing any difference between smoothing and not smoothing which didn't make any sense. Pooklet helped me sort it out though. Thanks. :)
I think they look fine, and I don't notice a gradient. However, if it bothers you you might be able to get rid of it by adding a bit of monochromatic noise. Darker tones often develop weird colouring after you smooth them out, and adding noise fixes it at the cost of making the skin a little grainy.
Thanks! Pooklet commented on my Dreamwidth about using SimPE to replace the textures to circumvent the compression from BS, and that seems to be working. Thanks for the advice, though. :)
Ah, I hadn't remembered that. Well, if the replacing in SimPE doesn't work (it reduces it, but doesn't always remove it entirely), you can use the method I mentioned as a last resort. I'm looking forward to the finished product. :D
I love that family so much. It's been hard to play them lately, though, because I don't want them to grow old and die, but at the same time I at least want the boys to grow up.
And I should have the skins up in day or so, once I do all the SimPE jazz. :) I'm pretty sure HMX is going to be my favourite. :D Thanks!
