One of the reasons they tell us for studying history is so that we don't repeat the mistakes of the past. But does that really work? Sure, we know in our minds what we should not do, but we end up doing it anyway because our minds don't have as much control over our actions as they would like. It seems that the past does indeed repeat itself...
