An essential part of God is peace. To really understand God one has to be at peace with one's life. That's hard to do at Caltech. Life here is hectic. There's so much going on academically and socially that it is oftentimes hard to take a step back and see the trees for the forest. I contend that the problem is not so much apathy and laziness, because most people here are not apathetic and lazy in general, but priorities. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing. It's really the same thing as doubt. Occasionally shuffling one's priorities around shows one what one's true priorities are.

Anyway, I hope this is the case because in living from problem set to problem set I haven't had much time for God or church. I guess that I sort of want to see what living without God would be like for a while so I can compare it to living with God. It's an experiment of sorts....
