so, the speech went off without a hitch. it was rather great, actually. i've never had to talk with a translator before, and so it was a new experience. i kept saying a bit too much for her, and had to slow down my speeking quite a bit. so, my 30 minute speech turned into a 1 hour speech. which i really wasn't too irritated with. it was great ( Read more... )

I know how strange it can be to give presentations with an interepter. I have had to do a few foriegn language shows at work. It is a little weird saying a sentance or two and then waiting for it to be translated into a different language. Add in visual aids that you hold up and maybe smile and point at while the person is hopefuly saying something about it. It is fun though.

I am glad you trip went well.

that's odd. didn't notice it. thanks. i took a look at it, and after puzzling over which particular link was bad, and removing the ones that looked perfectly fine, i found that the problem still existed. turns out i missed a stupid little " at the end of one of the link tags. damned "s....

World TRAVELER!!!! YEA YEAH YEA anonymous October 31 2005, 12:24:41 UTC
future referance, there is never a fee to see inside a church. in fact most are completly free. in the large tourist destinations they might have parts sectioned off and charge for that. example, the dome on the duom cost six euros to climb the stairs, in the vatican you have to pay to see sistine chaple, but michoangelo's pieta is open for all... there are so many beautiful churches with amazing art in them. in rome I wondered into a small unnoticable (in comparison wiht the pantheon ect and well, rome) church and BOOOOOOM! two extramly famous AMAZING caravagios tucked on a ordinary wall in an ordinary nook. not even placed on a prominated place for desplay... there is so much amazing art that it is common place.

yeah Italy is my favorite. mi piaci! ciao!

ps and yes I was one of the people playing with the birds for hours, chasings... terrorizing... (=
my black jacked was pok-a-dot.
