Let me see if I understand your comparing correctly. You experienced the American Bahá’í schools/retreats as having structure and highly scheduled. Within that there was classes and also scheduled (both structured and unstructured) free time. In Slovenia they are not as structured or scheduled, resulting in larger amounts of time having lectures and less amount of time unstructured free time. Or was it, lots of lectures with spontaneous free time.
Apparently, the result you saw was that in Slovenia there was not as much actual development of bonds of friendship, without the structured free time or structured active learning. Am I close? Did you see more active learning in America which facilitated the development of friendships? I’m interested in what the children were doing during the lectures. How did they feel about the division of time?
Of course, when you start to compare and contrast the method of developing retreats, I’m very interested.

well, considering i was a major part of the planning of this winter school, i didn't really get to see what a slovene planning team would have done for the school. however, from over hearing things, it sounds like there is a lot less time spent in lecture. however, i don't really have an accurate idea of what of of their schools is like, again, because i've never been to one

my exeprience with these schools has been that u should have interesting speakers but not for more than an hour or so of sit down and listen to a smart dude or dudet...than u need workshops where ppl work together and than you have a lot of free time...preferibly some structured so ppl do sthing fun and good and together...cause this is a small community it's unfortunatly very difficult to organize separate things for all the age groups so it's a challange to do it so it keeps everyones attention span...all in all ppl judge the school usually by what they got...and "getting ppl" is always the best and meeting people from other communities is so special to Bahai's here bcs not many have the oportunity to go elsewhere to visit...and if on top of ppl u get some knowledge u're a whole universe richer!!! I am sure i misspelled all of what i wrote since that is what i usually do...i speak better...I promise...anyway love to all that read these now shorter posts...maruška
