But then I decide hey no, I'm going to finish my current WiPs goddamnit because its not nice to leave people hanging. That is why I'm mostly thankful Bloodstream will be wrapping up soon because while I love the shit out of writing that kink/angst

So much for Vamp!Lestrade who I've decided would be originally French - turned in the Revolution and would speak filthy filthy things in French to Mycroft. His name would also be Grégoire ... but he goes by 'Greg' now.

And yes - I need to have a direction. Even if its a simple one. That is why I'm having difficulty with some of my original pieces because I can't pinpoint the most important thing and how that fits into what motivates the characters. Gah. If only I had that.

Headcanon is that Lestrade speaks French ... or at least pick up lines. Bahaha!

And yes I completely understand what you are getting at. All those little things you want to include but ultimately don't make a lick of difference. I face that problem with one original character in particular - I developed his entire family tree and how they all interact with him etc but the plot does not require a family reunion and so while its good for me to see where he is coming from I can't show the rest of the world. GAH!

And isn't it just painful to cut out those words? Its like 'BUT I WROTE THEM' oh well delete. It is literally like murdering a baby ... well not really anything like that but those words, to me at least, are like a piece of my soul laid out.

I also find it frustrating as when I try to translate those daydreams onto paper they just aren't right - story of my LIFE. If only fics wrote themselves. :(

I've had similar experiences too when I combed through the kinkmeme. I kept stumbling onto these really great prompts that just latch on to me and demand to be written. Unfortunately, I must force myself to focus on one fic at a time, otherwise I don't get anything done because I'm horrible at multitasking when it comes to fic writing. I'm barely hanging on to writing the bonus chap for my Vamp!strudel story before I jump onto the next prompt. Those shiny prompts are hard to say no to. They practically seduce you into bed with them. They're such naughty things. lol

I actually have been meaning to watch Being Human just to see Godtiss in action, so thank you for the vid. He plays the role so well and is exactly what I imagined Vamp!croft would be like.

Lol, yes! We need fics to write themselves. My friends and I were discussing this problem in much detail ... we still don't have a solution.

And also yes, they do seduce you and weave into your dreams. They hold you deep and don't let go. I still need to get my current WiPs done ... and then we shall see :)

On Being Human - first series is great, second series a bit iffy but fairly solid, haven't seen the third, but the fourth looks so good (I've only watched the first three eps and the last one ... oops ... bahaha)

Vamp!Strudel fic - lol! I had really planned to write a second portion to it (which will be a pwp) because I couldn't just leave it as it sits now. I needed some nice, fluffy, conciliatory mystrade to balm my soul after writing that shameful shameful fic. I just need to get off my butt and write the porn and I'll be golden.

The other prompt that sparked my interest is the one where Mycroft is a crimeboss and Lestrade is the frustrated detective that knows he's behind it but can't seem to find enough evidence to lock Mycroft up. lol. We'll see how that goes. :P
