I pretty much complain about girls a lot, not because they are mean to me, nobody is really mean to me, but our social structure or biology or something makes girls social interactions totally mysterious to me. I get that most people hate their bodies or something, actually I don't really get that, but I do read it a lot when girls write about

i know it's super sketch for some random lurker to comment on your journal but this post totally struck a chord with me. as much as i try to be a rational young woman and not obsess over my looks, i still fall victim to feeling sorry for myself because i'm not very "good-looking". it's like society perpetuates this idea that women can be anything we want to be today but it's not enough to be smart, funny, driven, and passionate, we have to be beautiful too. pretty people may not be good in bed, but average looking girls like me can't even get anyone into bed!

i know it's not important but i swear, i'm not coming back in the next lifetime unless i'm pretty. devastatingly so.

p.s. despite not being all that great to look at, i do laugh a lot. i may sleep alone, but better to laugh myself to sleep at night without seeming freaky!

Honestly, I think it's a mistake for anyone to believe that we can be anything we want. Some people are just smarter than other people, just like some people are more superficially attractive. If you really are all the things you say, you won't have a problem after the retarded, self-centered twenties.
