Actually, I object to this less on gender stereotyping than on anatomical impossibility.

Well, if we want to get practical about it, I'm not sure how a mer-person even moves on land. Flopping about like a fish out of water?

And the eliminatory habits of mer-people seem to be something it's difficult to examine too closely.

All in all, a silly thing to have on a sign anyway. What's wrong with Fir on one and Mna on the other? It'd make sense to me...
