I have had wireless DSL in my building since I moved into the old Apt. many years ago - and I have offered it to all of my neighbors. My Airport (circa 2000 graphite model - the first airport they made) is now dead. It's demise makes me realize I may not get another - and I may cancel the DSL at my house ( Read more... )

make 'em pay dude. It's one thing to unknowingly steal wireless internet, and it's another to make them aware you're doing it and not pay for it. Make him pay. you can call it 50%, but really charge him 80%.

Of course, you could just get dial-up and wait till said neighbor hooks up his own wireless, then return the favor of "borrowing" said connection. :)

I don't believe you have to get cable TV service to get cable modem service -- they do them separately.

I keep thinking about DSL.

I'm not spoiled by it yet, so I make do.
