Post Blue.Summary: Kyuhyun thinks that Donghae is his, for a reason he doesn't know.
Disclaimer: I own this awesome version of Kyuhyun, not the real one though. and not Donghae.
They were two now.
Kyuhyun didn't think that would happen in a thousand years. He would always be alone in this, since that was the way it had been. But Donghae changed right before his eyes. From lost and innocent, to someone fearless, with a face that sometimes could be mistaken as cold, but his emotions were always on the surface, never entirely hidden. Quite the opposite to Kyuhyun.
Kyuhyun couldn't push Donghae away. Even though being lonely was something he had chosen, it didn't necessarily mean that he liked that way of living. He forced himself to admit the fact that he actually liked feeling Donghae's presence in every room of his apartment. He liked finding clothes tossed everywhere. He liked the chaos the older brought with him. But was he growing softer?
Kyuhyun soon decided that Donghae was his. There was really no other way he could explain it to himself. But what scared him when he sometimes thought about it, was the fact that he might have gotten himself a weak spot, something that could tear down the strong facade of his. He was careful with letting no one know about it, but since everyone were afraid of him anyway, it wasn't that much of a burden.
Donghae didn't like Kyuhyun's selfish side, he close to detested it. But still, something kept him to stay where he was. After one week he whined about Kyuhyun teaching him how to fire a gun properly, after three he could aim close to as good as the younger, and after a month, he had built enough muscles to be able to told Kyuhyun down when his own temper flared. The older seemed to be a natural. But Kyuhyun was still the possessive one, he could still scare Donghae.
“I can't do this.”
“Of course you can't, you're a softy.”
A simple shot echoed in between the walls in the dirty alley. A lifeless body dropped to its knees and tilted back into the trash, blood oozing out of a fresh gunshot wound. The brunette looked to his side and sighed, while the tall man beside him smirked, putting the gun back in the brunette's hand
“If you wanna be a hero, you're gonna have to be ready to do the work of it. Killing is a big part.”
The older glared at the other, silently cursing, at both himself and Kyuhyun. He knew he could, he just wasn't fond of the thought of putting a human being's life out. His conscience burned inside of him. Though, this had been a bad man, he knew it, but still, he couldn't.
“Tell me when you want to stop with this nonsense and go back home, you're really getting nowhere.”
“Just shut the fuck up, will you? I've made tons of progress, otherwise we wouldn't be here, 'cause I tracked him down, I put him there, you just pulled the trigger,” Donghae shouted in frustration, hating how Kyuhyun just looked amused.
“Don't wear yourself out,” the younger motioned for the street lights, “we're going home.”
“No, we're not! We haven't even started this. People are suffering and someone has to do something about it. This world is a fucking mess, and unless something happens, it's gonna stay this way. Kyuhyun-ah, we have to do something, we have to-”
Donghae had time to see the hint of irritation in Kyuhyun's face before the other grabbed his head and crashed their lips together violently. There wasn't any affection, but rather filled with passion. Donghae figured it was probably Kyuhyun's way of shutting him up, and it worked. Donghae pulled at Kyuhyun's hair to get a chance to get at least one gasp of air before he once again had no chance of being the dominating. When Kyuhyun got too rough, hands pressing the older toward the wall, Donghae tried to whimper and indicate how much it actually was starting to hurt. Coldhearted Kyuhyun didn't care much for the other's indications, just took them as hints to shove his tongue even further in. His head was dizzy, and he could tell Donghae was pretty lost in it too now, whimpers being replaced by moans. Before he took it too far, he had to pull away.
“Don't-” he tried to catch his breath, while staring into Donghae's eyes, “-don't drag me into your shit about saving this place. Kill, I can do for fun, but care, I choose not to. I thought you knew that by now.”
Donghae stared at him, and his heart hurt a little, even though there was nothing else you could expect coming from Kyuhyun, other than that.
“I say we go home,” he let his tight grip of Donghae's arms go, leaving the older to rub the pain away with his own hands, “and you're still on their list, so I suggest that you follow me, unless you want to die.”
-
Donghae stared up at the ceiling, head resting on his hands where he lay on the bed, while his thoughts were going in a thousand different directions. He had to make Kyuhyun help him, even if the younger most probably wouldn't be in on it, or otherwise he wouldn't get anywhere. Or should he just quit everything? Maybe he should try living as heartless as Kyuhyun was, only care for himself. Even though Donghae spent of most every wake second with the younger, he still couldn't figure out how Kyuhyun worked, if there actually were some kind of feelings underneath it all, other than amused smiles or furious outbreaks.
He got snapped out of his thoughts when Kyuhyun slapped his elbow, the look upon his face leaning towards clearly unamused. Had Donghae done something to upset him that much?
“Your bed is over there.”
“But-”
Before Donghae got the chance to continue his sentence, Kyuhyun grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the bed.
“Your bed,” he pointed to the other side of the room, “is over there.”
Donghae sulked as he dragged his feet to the much smaller bed, looking over his shoulder at Kyuhyun, who tiredly pulled his shirt over his head and tossed it to the side. He sighed when the other wouldn't even spare him a glance. Kyuhyun just got into his own bed, and pulled the cover up to his chest. Donghae dropped his own shirt on the floor and hurried under his cover to gather much missed warmth, trying hard to drift off into some form of sleep.
He woke up, what seemed to be an hour later, pulling in a long gasp of air. He wasn't sure why he woke up, just sure of the fact that he wouldn't be able to sleep, not here anyway.
With silent steps he tripped over to Kyuhyun's bed. The younger had left the right side of the bed empty, and Donghae knew it was just out of habit, because that was where Donghae usually lay at night.
He carefully pulled the cover down, enough for him to crawl under, but with his back toward Kyuhyun. He didn't want to see if Kyuhyun was asleep or not, but the deep breath coming from the other indicated on that. He closed his eyes and tried to drift off again, somehow thinking that the presence of another would help in some way. It did, a little.
As he felt the minutes go by, suddenly there was skin against his skin, heat from another body embracing his, and an arm around his waist. Kyuhyun was still asleep, and Donghae knew that this as well was out of habit. But it still allowed Donghae to go back to sleep, when the feeling of Kyuhyun being there to protect him had found its place again.
-
When he woke up, Kyuhyun was gone, again. But the younger was always to be found on the roof, she same roof where they had met months ago. Donghae was never sure if he could join him, so he always kept his distance at first, until Kyuhyun seemed to take some sort of notice to him, and nodded his head. Donghae quietly sat down beside Kyuhyun, one leg of either side of the small wall, he wasn't really fond of the idea of falling down. Kyuhyun's legs were just dangling, him sitting dangerously close to the edge. They usually never talked, and it was good that way.
“What did you do?”
Donghae's eyes snapped up from the tiles, but Kyuhyun was still just staring into nothing in front of him. If he said that he wasn't surprised by getting a question, he'd be lying. Kyuhyun never wanted to know anything.
“Hm?”
“I can't leave you alone outside of this house, what is the reason? What kind of thing could you have done to them? You didn't seem capable of much when we met.”
Donghae bit his bottom lip and pretended to fiddle with something in front of him. Maybe Kyuhyun would just ignore it if Donghae wouldn't give him an answer quickly enough. He jumped slightly when a hand grabbed is wrist forcefully.
“Tell me, before I throw you out myself,” Kyuhyun hissed, eyes piercing through Donghae's.
“I- I used to be a part of it.”
Kyuhyun let go of his hand, and the older could clearly see a glimmer of disgust in the others eyes.
“Kyuhyun-ah, they didn't give me a choice.” Donghae felt desperate, he had been a little afraid of how Kyuhyun would react when he would want to find out. “I did nothing of importance for them, but got so fed up with being treated like shit, so I... I-”
“You what?”
“I sabotaged, destroyed so much money. It's the only thing they care about anyway, not the people that die for them to get it,” Donghae let out deep sigh, “I can't even remember how I got away, no idea how I managed to not get caught after that, not until I found out about you, and they simply wouldn't dare to get close, and... and then you saved me.”
Kyuhyun merely snorted, and turned his sight another way. Donghae bit his lip yet again, though in frustration. He felt the urge just to call Kyuhyun out, ask him when he was going to start acting human, but he had no wishes of being pushed down from the roof. Instead, he decided to try something drastic.
“Where are you going?” he heard Kyuhyun call out when he left his spot beside the other, to walk toward the stairwell. His lack of response was affecting the other, he could tell. When being a few meters from the door he felt a hand grab his shoulder and spin him around. “I asked you a question.”
“So you care now?”
“Don't put words in my mouth,” Kyuhyun snapped.
“And don't underestimate me. I'm not the person I was when we met,” Donghae hissed, trying to dig into Kyuhyun's soul, never breaking eye-contact. He wanted some sort of reaction. “And if you, as you say, don't care, then what does it matter if I walk out of here, leaving you alone for the rest of your fucking miserable life? Because it seems like that is what would ease your mind the most; to be by yourself. I would just do you a favor, huh?”
Donghae was on his way of leaving again, determined to stand his ground, but directly felt the rough hand pull him back, demanding lips searching for his in an attempt to force the older to stay.
Donghae couldn't, not this time. His fist met Kyuhyun's cheek, with much more force than any of them could have expected. The younger tumbled backwards in a shocked state, hand over cheek, tasting a little blood in his mouth. Donghae was way stronger than he had given him credit for. The older was on his way again, though he wasn't sure if he really wanted to leave or if he just wanted to test Kyuhyun in some way.
“Don't leave.” Kyuhyun's voice sounded smaller than usual, though still as cold, but with a little hint of something. Donghae stopped in his tracks and turned around, surprised to hear the two words. “Please.”
“Kyuhyun,” Donghae started, “are you... actually hesitant?”
Kyuhyun let out a shaky breath, to try to regain the control over his own emotions. He had to be the one with the upper hand, he couldn't let his built up wall tumble down. He wouldn't let the man in front of him destroy the life he had learned to live during so long, and do it in only ten minutes.
“I-,” he sighed, “I will never ask anything of you ever again. But please, just... stay.”
Donghae crossed his arms, and watched every movement that Kyuhyun was making. Had he just seen another side of coldhearted Kyuhyun?
He stepped closer, arms still folded, until their noses barely touched, Donghae looking up at the taller man. He squinted his eyes and hissed through his teeth;
“Don't you ever dare to push me out of the bed again.”
