Happy Days

It's been a wonderful day, despite the over 100 degree weather. I finished midterms, did wonderfully on my poetry assignments, and didn't have any headaches/stomachaches/general tiredness from spring-time pollen. And, I got wonderful news from the TV: California just legalized same-sex marriages

Yep I read that on yahoo news...they had a good write up and some great pictures.

A lot of my professors are really happy (one of my professors has been "dating" her partner for 11 years, and was really excited about the announcement. Though she's going to wait until it goes through the supreme court before she announces her engagement, because she doesn't want to go through the process of getting married and then have the government steal her marriage from her). Of course, there are also really REALLY angry people around, too, and there is some violence. It's a real mixed reaction, and people don't really talk about it... It's weird living through something like this, you know? 50 years I'll probably think back and say "Hah! Remember that time when _____?"
