The first thing that happened when I got to work last night was that, while putting my bag and coat away in the manager's office as per custom, I got abused by Arnold, the short white-haired obnoxious shift captain, almost enough to make me cry. He came storming into the office, yanked out a ladder and started ripping boxes full of wine off the top

Sorry that your boss is a complete asshole. I've never been yelled at at work, but I can see how that would definitely suck. =(
