oh man, soooo good. i have to say though that my favorite part was the american color commentary on the event. they kept talking as if someone had been stabbed on field. the word "despicable" was definitely used.

yeah, the replays on abc/espn never show materazzi restraining him. they make his head butt* look totally unprovoked.

* is head butt one word or two? i don't think i've ever had to spell it before.

also, i don't know much french, but the commentator keeps saying "WHY? WHY?" right?

that was insane! i stepped out for like a minute and when I got back it's like what the hell is going on !?! I wonder what it was that the guy told him to set him off like that. And it had a huge impact on the game. what a way to end a career...

Zidane is my new favorite soccer player. Too bad he's leaving the game just as he replaces the 13 year reign of Alexi Lalas (who hasn't played for years)
