Ang was watching that show some late night last week. It was awful. At first, i thought it was a joke, because everything was so completely over the top- complete exaggeration of every temper tantrum the kids are supposed to grow out of whenever they were four- and spending countless thousands of dollars to make a bratty fat girl believe she's a star & she can sing and she deserves all this because she's whatever-her-name was.
the sad part about it was that her parents seemed like normal, nice people.
Actually...I love MTV's "Sweet Sixteen" show... I feel like it's the animal planet but better. Just pretend they aren't human.
"And the young female stalks the new bmw convertable...making the mating call...
'But Daaadddy I want thaaaaat one' "
And sadly enough, some of the girls ought to know better. One had actually been an orphan until 14 or so.
Or maybe it's because my 15th birthday was so nice...till my 16th--awful (if only it had been because I hadn't gotten a car!!)
It's disgusting...but the girls never look that much happier after. And I think that's why I enjoy them. It's the proof that having all that you want really doesn't make you happy.

Superimposing Animal Planet over the show I think is the only way I wouldn't put an axe through the tv. (great association, by the way...)
Not to be so moralistic or anything, but it also makes me sad because I wonder what would happen if one of these girls has a legitimate crisis in her life? How could she survive it?
(Ugh, I hope I never to something like that to my kids.)
achanceecho, I'm doing pretty well in the midst of chaos;) How about you?

Ugh way too busy but I am almost done!
Yeah that was the thing that was odd about it...one of the girls had been in foster care for forever...she kept acting like she deserved it because of what had happened.
