Sorry, so rushed right now to make long posts (ficathon, damn it! I have bits and pieces but just not sure how to make it into one story, given the prompts; oh, and work. Pfft).

The laziest of the lazy bits of writing about Exit Wounds was that Jack's storyline so closely aped the Doctor's in LOTTL. If you're going to cannibalize a plot, at least choose a good one!

Totally with you on the ficathon. *sigh* I didn't even try to do more than one of my prompts, they didn't seem especially compatible. This is probably not my ideal method of fic-writing. Deadlines make me nervous and prompts make me positively neurotic. Hopefully I'm learning lessons I can take into account by the time another one rolls around.

Presumably they thought they were subtly mirroring LotTL and it was adding depth and meaning or something. Which might have stood a chance of working if they hadn't been mirroring crap. I imagine there was some sort of "message". I wonder what the hell it was?
