Yeah, if you couldn't make it through The Poison Sky - which was mostly just "eh", except for Donna overcoming her fear and Doing Good, and exceptionally bad for Ten's OTT moralizing - you really don't want to watch The Doctor's Daughter. You might spontaneously combust.
So he was going on and on and being horribly patronizing with that voice of his, that particular yowling sort of drawl he uses possibly because he thinks he's got to do something to make the particularly long chunks of dialogue interesting, and I just could not take it any more.
Amen, sister. Preach it. I do not understand how people think this guy can act, I really, really don't. His choices are so gawdawfully lame! And it's not just in DW, it's in everything I've seen him do. Is he really that cute? I sure don't see it. It kills me that he's so successful when there are so many more talented and deserving people out there, it really does

Yeah, I just really can't take it anymore. It was less that it was worse than usual-- though, I forgot the bit where he briefly flips out because OMG, he's trapped on EARTH, the HORROR-- than that I just can't think of any reason to watch it anymore. Ten's a pompous bitch? Who knew? I can read more than I need to know on the internet instead of wasting my time...
Yeah, Tennant might be cute from a couple of camera angles, provided he's not moving or, god forbid, talking, but even if you can't prove that the boy can't act, it seems pretty clear to me that he just doesn't. I don't know what the hell he's thinking, and I don't know why so precious few people seem to notice. Is it possible he's sold his soul to the devil or something? I hate to think he'd do that, but it'd explain a lot.
Yeah, I'm pretty well versed in classic rock. My dad had a copy of the Eagles "Hell Freezes Over" concert, and I got him to make an entire tape of just that version of "Hotel California" for me. And I would listen to it. *grins* Well, with cassette

I think I'm out of discussion with DW - don't like Tennant, love Donna, regret the existence of Ten, lather, rinse, repeat, but it does still amaze me how popular he is. But I keep going back to a friend's comment that because he's completely empty, he's the screen onto which those fans can project all their fantasies. Even if it's me projecting my dislike onto him, he's empty enough to absorb it (although I do think there's some substantial evidence to dislike him!).
As for the Who - Who's Next is definitely the album to start with. And personally, I love what Pete Townshend does as a solo artist even more - best album is All the Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes, but I also love his musicals The Iron Man (the children's story, not the comic) and Psychoderelict. And just...yeah, other than his first solo album, I love all of Pete Townshend's solo work. The first album isn't bad by any means, it's just that he hits another gear with Empty GlassThe Eagles are part of my childhood. I remember hearing them again a couple of years ago and

Yeah, after a certain point, there's just not much left to say, is there? "Oh, look, the same problems with his character and acting that they've had for the past three years are still there! And so many people don't care! Damn it to--" Or, "Guess what? I still hate him!" Well, at least they're consistent...
because he's completely empty, he's the screen onto which those fans can project all their fantasies-- hmm. In my experience, the ability of fans to project their own fantasies, with or without a blank slate, is pretty much unparalleled... And I doubt I'm immune. Certainly Tennant's performance is completely empty... Hmm, I'm going to have to puzzle that one through for a while.
Re: harmony-- my Dad's always been positively obsessed with harmony. Eagles, Chicago, that Gaither Vocal Band, and especially acapella and above all barbershop... I'm definitely not as obsessed with it as he is, but I also know he's instilled a fondness for it in me. And you don't get much of it anymore, do you? Two or three-part in the chorus, if you'
