Vermont Senatorial candidate makes Bush/Bin Laden comment

During a debate against his Republican oppenent, Bernie Sanders, Independent candidate for Vermont's Senate seat, was asked if he would close GITMO. Sanders' response: "...in some countries, Osama Bin Laden, if can you believe it, has more respect then does George W. Bush...". His comment and his opponent's reaction can be found here:

Truthfully I don't doubt what Sanders said. We live in world where people think Hitler was a god and Vlad the Impaler is a national hero in Romania. It may not be comfortable to hear, but it may be true since al-Quaeda is still getting new members in the Middle East.
