It showed up at her doorstep with a bright blue ribbon around its neck and a note that said, "ISN'T HE ADORABLE? XOXO, BOB". Yukiko wasn't sure what to make of this. She inspected the little husky puppy from every angle to see if there was something supernatural about it but so far, it just seemed like a normal puppy. It ran around, it peed on the newspaper she had thankfully put down, it ate the dog food she went out and bought.
She supposed it was nice to have a companion. And he was awfully cute. Yukiko couldn't bring herself to just throw him away.
"Yes?" Yukiko opened the door, puppy tucked under her arm, and greeted Gray. "Good afternoon."
The puppy wiggled and attempted to lick Gray's face.

Not that it was a poor look on her, but throw an enthusiastic puppy into the mix and Gray could be forgiven for requiring a double-take.
"It's seven-thirty in the morning, Yukiko," Gray pointed out with a curious look at the puppy. "And... well, hallo wee dog."
The little husky dog's icy-blue eyes were barely visible with all the excited squirming his little head was doing, so Gray gently scritched under his little white chin - prompting a tail-wagging to end all tail-waggings.
Gray glanced to Yukiko's dark eyes with an eyebrow half-raised. A non-verbal "dare I ask?".
