That's ridiculous how they made a big deal out of it and said you ruined the trip. Sometimes, I feel like people forget how to live. I've tried to never be that way. Someone who must follow all the rules, someone who does what's socially acceptable. Screw that. That's no way to live.

yeah, i thought it was bullshit. i was about 13 or 14 at the time and i grew up in the city - it's not like i was some little kid with no common sense. i have never seen the huge deal they saw with a teenager walking at night on private land. i'm pretty sure they just didn't like that i'd broken the (arbitrary) rules and was doing something 'weird'. even now i love walking at night around our neighborhood. and i agree with you, people don't know how to live!!
