I know we barely know each other, but reading your entry made me feel so incredibly frustrated for you. That's just AWFUL. I'm sorry about how unfair that is. D: Are you planning on confronting them about this again? Maybe you could just print this out and hand it to them, showing explicitly the reason why you didn't take AP classes and all those little things that added up... It feels so wrong that they won't even acknowledge all these different things. D:
*hugs* We need to get coffee sometime. I'm running out the door right now and can't comment in depth, but this is bullshit and no one deserves to be treated this way. And I've said this before but I'm always amazed at how strong and talented you are, and you've proved your worth again and again and it's not your fault if your family can't see that.
Oi, fucking people. I don't really have any good words of comfort because even though your friends love you, and I know how much you love us back, it's tough dealing with parents because I think no matter what you're always going to care for them so it's going to hurt when they're inconsiderate assholes and when they say and do things that are so stupid and hurtful.
But I do want to say that I really look up to you. I admire you taking your dreams by the horns and dragging them along no matter what and I admire how you overcome everything. Even though the struggle isn't so much fun, I appreciate what you do, I think you are amazing, and even though they're jerks sometimes most of the time, I'm pretty sure the day will come when they wake up and go 'wow, I was wrong'. One can hope. In any case, we'll be by you all the way.
tl;dr, a couple of haikus for you:
Parents are so dumb and hurtful that I want to punch them in the face.
Kitty is the best, Talented sexy lady, She's fucking rock star.
Omg best haikus eva!!! Those made my day. <3 <3 <3
Im seriously so grateful for your friendship, Erin. You are always there to cheer me up when I need you and you know I love you.
I think my parents will come around one day when Im super famous and successful and they'll be like "Oh we always supported our talented daughter" and Im going to call them on their bullshit on national tv or something. Either way I just feel like they'll only acknowledge all the things I do once Im a big deal.
