Question about getting jobs while traveling

I was just reading how jobs in the us are going up and it got me thinking. You see, we are planning a visit to either Europe or Argentina this year, and I would like to work while doing so. Not just to have the extra money of course but to have the experience of working outside of the states, purely for the experience of it - not like any sort of ( Read more... )

Do you have any kind of specialized skill? If not then it will be incredibly difficult, unless you're affiliated with a school or work for a company with foreign offices. Especially if it's short term work. If you just wanted the experience then there are probably volunteer or agro-tourism possibilities. Most countries are having their own economic difficulties and jobs will go to their citizens first. Even in better economic times it's not easy.

Provided the visa you enter the countries on give you permission to work or you already hold a EU or ARG passport, then I'd imagine you could find some temporary post if you had the skills/language required.

Check the work visa requirements for the countries you will be visiting. In many countries, you cannot work at all including volunteer work, migrant work, and bar/waitress work while in the country on a visitor's visa.

In Argentina, a pesky thing like a work visa isn't really required. Technically...yes. In reality? Nah.
I've been living and working here for a year on a TOURIST VISA.
Not saying you should necessarily do it that way, but it is pretty typical.
