*Texas could sense how nervous New York was. It put him even more on edge, like he wasn't tense enough as it was. Dolled up, taken to a completely foreign and unknown city- and Amsterdam at that -to meet some liberal family? The whole idea seemed bad to Texas but... He couldn't help but feel like, in all the warnings and clothes shopping and times spent on perfecting his hair... That maybe New York was a little ashamed of him.*
*Well. That was a thought to be addressed later. For now, all Texas had to do was survive the city, the hair products, the stylish clothes, and the liberals.*
*...And the silence. He really had no idea what to say to comfort his lover.*
Amsterdam would be explained as bright to a person who hadn't viewed him walking down the stone path towards New York and Texas. The colors he wore matched but also didn't; many were neon but also were soft. The appearance of Amsterdam stated clearly where they were, a high fashion area of the city.
Amsterdam was exited to meet his nephew's boyfriend, he had not been able to have much involvement with New York's life since he had left and he wanted to change that now that 'hammerspace' had brought them back together. Over all he was very excited for this day.
Amsterdam approached the two to greet Michael moving to kiss his cheeks three times. "Welkom thuis neef."
[Before he saw Amsterdam, New York had looked up at Texas and smiled, wanting to take some comfort in his words. He nodded, though once he heard that voice, he turned and saw his uncle, and smiled as he was greeted.]
Hallo oom! Het is geweldig om hier te zijn. Is het oke als we spreken in het Engels? Hij weet niet Nederlands.
['He' of course referring to Texas. After he said that, he looked up at the state, and then back at Amsterdam.]
*Texas felt a small surge of panic when New York spoke Dutch. But then, when he finally did speak English, he didn't feel any relief. There was just pressure- Pressure to make a good impression for New York's sake.*
*He had no idea of European customs... So, it was time to bust out the friendliness. He smiled and nodded.*
