The parents okayed having David over for dinner, now I have to approach having him over earlier for our traditional Christmas matinee. We're planning on seeing The Last Samurai.

I called David to invite him to dinner. Then I let him know that he and I would be making the dinner. He laughed, rightly so!

Man, it's sounds like you're making a meal at a fancy restaurant! (I think it's a great-sounding meal!)

And homemade ice cream, too. Nice touch. :)

(BTW, I found your journal through collegegop.)

Thank you! I've only made watermelon sorbet before, so that's why I'm making it a few days ahead of time (just in case I screw it up!)

Thank you for serving.

Wow, that dinner sounds really good. Especially the candy cane ice cream! Never heard of that before.

Just a suggestion: maybe you should, if you have the time, make a couple of extra placemats. Best to have some extras, in case they go and lose one of those, too... :-P

Thank you! The ice cream maker I bought my mom three years ago has only been used once...by me...so I figured it could use a little attention! I think Baskin Robbins used to have candy cane ice cream, they might only have it during the holidays though. Yum!

You're probably right, I should make some extra placemats. Especially for when we have more guests over! (Which is rare, but it does happen). Thanks!
