!! I'm so sorry. I know exactly where you are coming from. I lost my doggie of 15 years over the summer (while I wasn't even living at home). It was awful. This entries almost brought me to tears. My heart is with you.

I know, I remember reading what you went through (Fluffy, was it?) I was actually looking for you on IM yesterday...hoping you might have some words of wisdom. Right now I'm fine (mostly) at work, but I dread going home, going to sleep, waking up. I've taken to writing things I miss or love about her in a little notebook. I've taken so many good pictures of her over the years that I had been planing to have a little coffee table book made...now seems like such an appropriate time to start working on that.

Thank you!

Aww! I know it all. BTW, I don't have my AIM listed because of crazy people. It's LeRocksee in case you need it. :)

Your entry was very touching. I have memories of a dog (5-6 years) and rabbit (8-9 years) that are special to me, and what you wrote was a strong reminder of what I felt, too.

We sent our rabbit to a taxidermist in Colorado to get him stuffed. He was completed and arrived back at home about two weeks ago. The folks say he looks pretty good, but takes some getting used to- as that sort of thing would. Frankly it helped to put a humorous, light spin on the whole situation- and that's almost as good as having him alive.

When discussing how we would make her final arrangements in a random conversation several months ago, I got vetoed on having her stuffed by my mom and my fiance. They both thought it was creepy. We comprimized on having her cremated and keeping her ashes.

A pet's love is unconditional, just makes losing them that much harder.
