This is not the greatest, safest country in the world, especially not anymore on the latter. The benefits of living here include an unappreciation for womanhood, sexuality, and the self; an apathy for the state of the economy and the growing class gap; an idolitry for the intellectually deficient. There is nothing wonderful about being here.
I've been thinking this in some form or another for a while though, more applied to the American people than the politicians. I mean honestly, it's not Bush's fault that Issue 1 passed in eleven states - he didn't have the power to change people's minds one way or the other. It's the faults of the people who voted.
And dear God. You know what bothers me about this country? Of the 18-29 year old demographic, SEVENTEEN PERCENT OF THEM voted this past Tuesday.
Seventeen.
That disgusts me.
