i haven't posted any actual photos in an age. these were taken on friday on my 1968 mamiya slr, which, rather unfortunately, has a broken lightmeter. i don't think they came out too badly considering.
they're great, brilliant considering the broken light meter! i haven't taken any pictures in like, forever. mainly due to me having lots of broken lenses & none that work (& possibly because of my wanttodonothingstate). i miss it!
you should get the lenses repaired and take photos again!
(i can't talk, i almost didn't bother as my usual slr has dead batteries and therefore is out of action and i almost considered leaving the mamiya at home due to the lightmeter scenario). i really should get it serviced/replace the batteries.
it takes a lot of energy to get started, but once you get going again, it's wonderful.
i would get them repaired, but to have just one repaired would cost £60. my dad gave it a go but failed to get to the lenses. & erm, it's gonna be cheaper to get a new one. so i shall say goodbye to my 70's camera once christmas comes. & then i shall get back on track, i'm sure!
That worked out really well for having a broken light meter. Do you process and print them yourself. I real like the first one. I think the way the light is hitting him i perfect. It has the perfect combination of dark and light and it's better than the other ones because the shadows are hitting him in the exact right place. Also his movement is just more interesting. What kind of paper where they printed on? Why have you stopped taking photos?
they were taken with ilford delta 400 (one of my favourite b/w films - damn digital for murdering ilford). they're printed on kodak paper as i don't currently have any darkroom access.
stopped because i ran out of inspiration/heart/desire to look at anything. seems to be coming back though. i'm itching to get back in the darkroom and do things again.
