Do you ever think that life is a cycle of conquering and acquiescing? 
Master-slave dialectic, never-ending.
I mean.
I never intend to hurt anyone.  I doubt most people do.
We just thoughtlessly flail our arms and bruise anyone who happens to be standing near enough.

I think life and relatioships are a constant sift in power. Sometimes we have it, sometimes we don't. When we do, we hve to try and do the right thing by others. When we don't, we have to hope that others can be trusted to do right by us.
