Smoking is a real addiction.  Within the permissive cocoon of my friends, a cigarette here and there (or ten times a day) doesn't seem like an issue.  But at my grandma's house, it was.  I behaved like a criminal, stealing away to my car at midnight for a quick toxic punch to the lungs.  My pink glitter lighter and Marlboro Lights became contraband ( Read more... )

I went to Apache Lake this weekend with my parents and their lifelong friends Tom and Shelby (this is the woman who has been smoking since she babysat my mother at fourteen years of age). She used Chantix because she wanted to kick the habit. She says cigarette smoke now kind of makes her a little sick, and she's completely over it.

I donno if that helps, but there you have it.

That's what my Dad used to kick the habit. He smoked for over 40 years and now he's been completely smoke free for a year.
But then again, it probably doesn't do much for those who don't want to quit...
And you're in charge, completely in charge, and you're the one that gets to decide if you smoke or not.
That fact alone is kind of empowering, huh?
