I'm going on hiatus to get my life in order and to complete the work on the house. I'll still post writing and artwork, but that's it. I'll even hold off on the photo dumps until further notice.
Yet I will leave you with a dose of cute from our temporary guest, Milo. Also known as Captain Derp. ;*D
Kar'ell decided to foster a cat belonging to one of the rescues that come to her vet office. Due to space issues the poor dear has been stuck in a cage for months with no where to roam around. He came with the name Milo, so we've called him that. At first we kept him in Kar'ell's room, but his curiosity led to us finding him wandering around loose in the back of the house a few times, so we let him have free roam. He settled in as if he had always been here. XD He's very sweet and calm and he didn't mind the other cats at all for the first week, but Molly and Cinnamon don't like him and after putting up with them hissing and swatting at him he finally started hissing back. We try to shoo them away from him any time they cross paths. Surprisingly, after an initial day or two of annoyed yowling, T.K. has completely accepted his presence. Thea, of course, didn't care from the start. Milo now avoids the minicats and often sprawls on the floor near T.K. and Thea.
We've had him for about a month now, and he'll be leaving us this Saturday. We all like him, but the issue with Molly and Cinnamon is stopping us from officially adopting him. Also, we're all agreed that five cats are too many for us. :\ If either the basement or upper floor were finished, it might work out. Instead, feeding time has turned into a kitchen traffic jam and we could really use space for an extra litter box.
But it's been a fun experience, and Milo has had a good time, I think. I've also called him "Mr. Curious" and "Curious George" because he has to investigate everything. If you open a door, he wants to see inside. If you move something, he wanders over to see. He doesn't have a concept of personal space. He has a cute little meow -- whenever I'm out in the garden he'll start calling over and over until I look in the window or go over to the front door. He doesn't purr easily but he is affectionate and loves being scratched under the chin. The tip of his tail is always flicking. When his pupils are dilated he looks slightly cross-eyed, which is what led to the "Captain Derp" nickname. He is a little stupid. He likes to headbutt. He doesn't shed! He doesn't know what treats are. He has webbed toes! He has fuzzy toes!
We have no idea what his heritage is. Might be some Turkish Van - Snowshoe - Siamese in there.
Photo dump!
Sweety Face! We put Molly's old collar on him so we could hear him wandering around. He kept managing to take it off, so after this picture he's gone nekkid.
From nose to tail - his color gradient. Due to lighting this picture is darker than IRL.
Milo's opinion of the cage. Molly isn't the only one who does this! I was working on my cross stitch while "babysitting" Milo the first day he was here. He wanted to stay close to me.
Oh sure, get comfy, bub. :|
Right at home on mom's bed with the other cats. *Zonk* Also! More pictures of Molly taking over my desk! I think she's gone a little too far this time...
Hello, hi, yes dear, you're cute. Mommy's trying to proofread. Umm, say, could you move a little...errr... I'm sorry, should I move the keyboard? :|
Whhhhyyyyyyy... -_-
