Florida

Well, I'm back... and wow! I've never been to Florida before, so this was an exciting trip for me. I have lots of pictures to show you, but I will put them all behind cuts so as not to spam your Friend's page.

First and foremost, a picture of us in front of the fountain at Columbia Restaurant...

I had the most fun shopping at all of the little interesting stores and flea markets down there. I acquired two new pets; silver-dollar sized Red-eared Slider Turtles that I will be taking to the preschool for my classroom pets. Also, we saw these:

If you can't make out the name on the print, it's "Aria".

I saw the most exciting animals while I was there, but unfortunately I forgot my camera for some of the best ones. While walking on the beach on morning, I saw a shark that a fisherman had caught, and later that day, I saw a stingray that was caught by a group of men that were "sand skimming" for bait. (The took a big net out in the surf about twenty feet and waited for about five minutes, and then "skimmed" from there back to shore to see what they could catch for bait and food.) I saw an owl for the first time ever, and several lizards, tree frogs, different kinds of fish, crabs, seagulls, sandpipers, egrets, herrings, and snakes. And of course these:
.

We went with family, of course, and had the most delicious food. We ate at a place called "The Conch House" were they brought you a orchid on the plate with your food. It was very nice. I had to take these:

But the most incredible thing... waking up at 5:30 A.M. to watch the sunrise over the water. Tim took these pictures. Enjoy.

All in all, it was the most incredible trip I think I've taken in a long time. I hope you enjoyed the "recap" and the pictures.
