I have some issues in my head that I am wanting to find out which path is the one I should take. I feel I should meditate heavily upon this choice and see what I see in my meditation.

What are some tools or items I should have or use to do a deep meditation?

Incense is always a wondrous tool for meditation. Simple yet effective. The aromas definately help calm one's mind.

Tapes of distant sounds, such as oceans etc. are often suggested, but I personally find them too distracting. You might be different though.

Time of day can also help. Afternoons or night time is usually when people begin to naturally wind down. If you choose to do it at that time it might be more effective.
