[LotR cast] [Viggo/Orlando] [PG]
Q&A
Author’s Note: I think I’ve written authors notes that deserve higher ratings than this whole story put together. A short mind-game conversation that bounces between being pointless and being fluffy.
“It’s different.”
Viggo looked up at the sound of Orlando’s voice. “What?”
“The way you say my name. It’s… it’s different.”
“From what?”
“From everyone else.”
Viggo looked back down at the textured paper he held in his hands, at the sketch he’d drawn of Orlando, unusually quiet, brooding, still in Legolas’ getup. “Maybe I like being different.”
“Why?”
“Because. I just like being different.”
“No, I meant. Why do you say my name? Differently? Why does it sound different?”
“Oh.” Viggo paused thoughtfully, watching Orlando twirl a strand of long blond hair around a finger. Around and around and around…
“Why?” Orlando prompted, still twirling, when Viggo didn’t answer.
“Because you want it to sound different.” Viggo tried to sound confident, but it sounded a lot more of a question than an actual statement.
“Why?”
Viggo raised an eyebrow. Orlando, he decided, as he looked away from the slim, muscular figure, was very good at playing mind games. Almost as good as Viggo himself. Then he shrugged, and tried to smile, although the smile came out more of a grimace than anything else. “Because secretly, you have a thing for me, and you like it when I say your name.”
“Why?”
Viggo could see the slight twitch of the corner of Orlando’s lips, even as the brunette forced it down. “Because I’m hot.”
“And?”
Viggo almost grinned, “And you think that if you keep this up, I’m going to kiss you for being so adorable.”
Orlando allowed a quirk of the lips. “And?”
Viggo sauntered toward him, before reaching to brush Orlando’s cheek with his fingers. He smirked as Orlando leaned unconsciously into his touch, voice barely a whisper as he asked again. “And?”
Viggo pulled his fingers away, and watched Orlando blink, trance broken, before walking out the door, calling over his shoulder. “And I might. Next time.”
