If there was ever one thing Noriko regretted in her life it would be the fact that she was born a succubus. The thing that made it even worse was that she was one of the only two succubus that still lived in the world. There was still plenty of incubus running around, but their numbers were dwindling as well. When Noriko was younger she remembered how the incubus men who knew her mother were very protective of her, making sure that one of the last succubus wasn’t killed. It was in middle school that Noriko met Kazunari Ninomiya, the son of an incubus and a human mother. He was always full of himself even as a child but most incubus were since they were irresistible to any man or woman minus a fellow incubus or succubus.
Thankfully as children both Noriko and Nino’s thirsts didn’t kick in till they were sixteen years old. After that though Nino had no problem sleeping with his classmates to fill his thirst, but Noriko was different. She always hated the thought of having to sleep with people just to fill the burning thirst she had, it seemed so beneath her to bring herself to ask for sex to just fill a thirst. One day though she was so thirsty that she collapsed at Nino’s feet. They both knew it was impossible for an incubus and a succubus to bear a child, so the two of them had sex to fill Noriko’s thirst. From then on they formed a pact where Nino would fill Noriko’s thirst till the day she found the man she really wanted to be with.
As the two of them grew up Noriko found herself being tied to Nino despite her want to leave him. He tried to control her and always used the excuse of wanting to protect one of the only females of his kind from going extinct. She grew to hate him so much and she wanted to kill him, but for some reason she felt if she did she’d have no one else in the world. The life of a succubus and an incubus was a lonely one and all they had was each other who understood that pain. At least Noriko thought she’d always be alone until she saw that man’s face.
Noriko smiled to herself before she felt Nino wrap his arms around her shoulders. She turned to face him and felt his lips against hers briefly before she pushed him away violently.
“I’m not in the mood! If you’re thirsty I’m sure there’s plenty of men and women in this apartment you can feed off of. Maybe you can even tap into that incubus power of yours and invade their dreams,” Noriko snapped at him before walking towards the sliding doors and pointing for him to leave.
“You know you’ve become really distant lately. I hope that you haven’t gone soft on me. Remember we do this to survive, you can’t disappoint your mother if you left your bloodline die off. See ya around,” Nino told her before stepping out onto the balcony.
Bat wings spread from his back, flexing and stretching before he took off into the night to feed. Noriko looked at his wings and remembered how her mother once told her that they were birds who preyed on the weak and delicious fish of the sea, but Noriko knew it was wrong. Especially now she felt her feelings wavering because she found someone she wanted to love, but whether or not his feelings towards her were genuine was the problem. As a succubus she had the power to touch somebody and have them fall into a deep attraction with her, but she always avoided touching others because of it. It was helpful in finding a partner, but it also left her distant since she couldn’t tell if they liked her for her or because of her power. Noriko wrapped her arms around herself as she remembered something Nino once told her.
“Noriko…no man will ever truly love you because they’ll always want your body as a succubus, but you know I’m telling you the truth when I say that I’ll always be here for you,” Nino told her as he extended her a hand.
Noriko had gone berserk in her apartment one night, letting her full succubus appearance come out as she lashed out. She had sex earlier with a man she had thought liked her, but after they were done and the spell was broken he left her like nothing happened. Her heart had finally had enough and she tore her apartment up in her fit of rage until Nino arrived. He calmed her down enough to talk to her, putting forth his best sincerity towards his broken friend.
“Nino…does this mean you love me?” Noriko asked him as she wavered putting her hand over his.
Nino grasped her hand before pulling her up into an embrace and whispering, “This will probably be the closest thing you’ll get to love Noriko…”
Now Noriko wondered if that was really true. The way Tamamori looked at her even though she never touched hi directly t felt as if there was something there. Suddenly Noriko snapped from her thoughts when she heard her phone going off, notifying her that she received a text. She rushed over to her cell phone and checked to see that she got a text from an unknown number. Her face lit up as she read it to herself before collapsing on the couch to silently flail her limbs in sheer happiness.

Taisuke was lounging on the couch watchin TV hen he heard a knocking at the door. He was surprised to have a guest visiting him at such a time and quickly ran to the door to open it. When he opened the door he saw it was his mother visiting him, her hand resting on her pregnant belly. He led her inside in a hurry, wanting her to be comfortable as she took a seat on the couch. Taisuke took a seat next to his mother as he waited for the reason for his mother’s unexpected visit.
“I’ve heard a lot from Tamamori-kun about your actions since the day you and Akira mated. I don’t know why you’ve been so heartbroken over her and resorted to moping around your house. You should have just seduced her again so that she’d make you her eternal partner,” his mother coldly told him as she averted looking at him.
“I promised that I’d keep my distance from her once I fulfilled my mating rights. She doesn’t want to see me anymore mother…” Taisuke trailed off as the pain came back to him.
“She’s only pushing you away because the girl is still attached to the once human life she had before. I took measures to investigate her and I found the one tie that I think has kept her from embracing the siren life. A man she works with, Satoshi Ohno, has never made a move on her and so the poor girl developed feelings for the only man who didn’t jump her because of her siren pheromones. But it appears he finally decided to make a move on her and escorted her home when she wasn’t feeling wel earlier oday,” his mother explained before Taisuke interrupted.
“Is Akira ok?!” he blurted out from concern.
His mother gave him a look before continuing, “She’s fine since she took him back to her room and sucked some of his life force. She was so into it that she sucked him almost to death and Dr. Sakurai had to tear her from him. When those two disappeared though and left the boy behind in her bed I was able to sneak in and take a look at him. His looks are average so I don’t see why she’s so infatuated with him. Especially enough to reject my own son…I almost sucked the rest of his life force so she’d get over him, but I didn’t want to be arrested for murder before I gave birth…instead I used my power of persuasion to make sure he never shows his face again around the siren mansion.”
Taisuke was in shock over hearing the coldness in his mother’s words. He could tell that she was beyond pissed over the news of Taisuke being rejected and took matters into her own hands. He bit down on his lip as he fought back from yelling at his mother for the actions she took against an innocent person.

Akira was having a good time talking to Yuta about siren history, but was interrupted by a maid who informed her that Ohno had awoken. After excusing herself, Akira rushed to her room to check up on the woken man. When she entered she saw Ohno sitting up in bed, staring down at the sheets with an odd expression on his face.
“Ohno-san are you feeling okay?” Akira asked as she went over to his side.
When she reached out to him she was surprised when he pulled away from her and lowly told her, “Don’t touch me…”
“Ne, what’s wrong?” she asked.
“Akira…what exactly are you? You’re not human…” Ohno asked her as he focused his eyes on her.
She froze up before trying to laugh it off, “What are you talking about Ohno-san? Did you have a weird dream?”
“Don’t lie to me Akira! I heard a voice…they said you’re not human…you’re a siren aren’t you?” Ohno asked her again.
“…if I said I was, would that change how you see me?” Akira asked as she tried to keep her voice from shaking.
“I don’t know how to feel about this. For all I know you used your siren powers to make me fall in love with you…” Ohno admitted as he looked at her wearily.
“I never used my powers on you! I genuinely liked you and wanted to be with you since I came to work for the company!” Akira snapped at him as she felt hurt and upset.
Ohno swallowed the lump in his throat as he remembered the voice threatening him to reject Akira if he wanted to live. He knew that even if he had feelings for her, they came from different worlds and someone wanted to keep them separated.
“I’m sorry Akira…I won’t tell anyone about you being a siren, but I think it’s best if we don’t let our relationship go further than the workplace…” Ohno managed to get out as he tried to act indifferent.
Akira tried to keep calm though it felt like someone was stabbing her right through her chest. It was the first time she had dealt with rejection and it hurt so badly that she didn’t know exactly how to take it. She knew she couldn’t bring her voice out and so she nodded her head in agreement and in a blur she kept her eyes on the ground as Ohno took his leave. When the door shut she felt her legs give out and she fell to her knees and furiously wiped the tears in her eyes.
“Y-You don’t want me because I’m a siren?! Don’t give me that crap!!” Akira screamed before picking herself up.
It hurt so badly as she raged through her room, throwing things around and tearing things up. A maid finally heard the racket and rushed to Akira’s room to check on her, but the door was locked. She pounded on the door and called Akira’s name again and again asking if she was ok before she heard someone walking her way. Mizumi was making her way down the hall with Sho by her side.
“What’s with all that racket?” Mizumi asked as she approached the maid.
“Akira-sama isn’t opening her door m’am and I heard such a ruckus…though it looks like it’s calmed down…” the maid explained before noticing the sounds had stopped.
Mizumi reached for the handle and turned it to see that it was indeed locked. She searched for her master key for a minute before using it to open the door. After pushing it open Sho ran in and surveyed the wrecked room and searched for Akira but she was nowhere to be found. Mizumi shook her head in disapproval before making her way over to the open window.

Part of her knew it was a bad idea to walking around at night alone, but at that moment she just wanted to run away from all the hurt and pain. Nino licked his lips as he flew high above Akira, having followed her a great length after spotting her walking alone. “Eh? Are you alright miss? You’re not hurt anywhere are you?” he asked her politely.
Akira turned her head in his direction, noticing the meek looking man approaching her. When Nino got closer he stopped in his tracks and swallowed the huge lump in his throat. He had always heard stories about a siren’s beauty, but he had never actually seen one up close. She was extremely beautiful even with tears rolling down her cheeks. On the inside he found it frustrating that she was using her siren pheromones on him without her even touching him.
“I’m fine…just dealing with being dumped,” she laughed bitterly as she tried to play it off in front of this stranger.
