They Can Suck My Balls

Apple's new commericals are hypocritical and mean-spirited. It makes me never want to buy any of their products, and makes me angry every time I see them. Every thing they say PCs do, I have had a Mac do to me, multiple times.

Back to watching South Park.

MAC IS THE MAN, COREY. YOU SHOULD NEVER TRUST THE MAN.

FUCK THE MAN. AND HIS FUCKING IPOD.

*laughs* Kels, I love you. Ya know, before the commericals, I was thinking about giving in and getting an IPod. The commercials took that away, and made me never want to use an Apple product. Wankers.

Creative Zen is much better than iPod anyway. *nods* :) iPod is just a fad that doesn't cooperate.

Are they the ones with the dorky PC man and the 'hip' Mac man? Sigh. Y'know, if Microsoft hadn't made so many programs for them, the Macintosh line would not have survived. Apple was so grateful for MS back before system 7 came out. (I remember; I was there, supporting MS programs for the Mac.)

Yup, those are the ones. Yeah, Mac can be ungreatful. I remember thinking about all that anti-trust stuff when I tried to download Quicktime, and it tried to force me to download iTunes as well. In fact, it won't let you download Quicktime, unless you download iTunes too.

It's funny, after they won, they decided doing the same thing they had a problem with was okay.

Microsoft also owns a large percentage of Apple stock - they bought it when Apple started to fail in the 90s... As for quicktime: get Quicktime Alternative player, fuck QT.

It's funny to hear apple call wintels "PCs" - implying perhaps that Macs aren't personal? They aren't unix, that's for daaamn sure, and they sure aren't userfriendly - ever tried to *fix* a mac? And don't tell me that shit doesn't happen heh, I grew up fixing machines.

My apologies on the late comment, looks like I missed the fun ;)

I agree that the new commercial isn't very nice, but having had multiple PCs and multiple macs, I've honestly found that macs are more userfriendly than PCs. I'm not saying they're necessarily better, but they're easier to use, crash less and you don't need to install any silly drivers or worry about spyware.

So, the commercials are mean, yes, but I don't see how they're hypocritical.

I have had the opposite experience with Macs. Every Mac I have ever used has crashed on me, some of them horribly. (One ate OS 10, and made really creepy alien noises from the speakers when we started it up.) I have had one PC crash on me, and it was running Windows 3.0 and was pretty old.

I have never been able to use Mac OS in any kind of productive way, while Windows suits my needs perfectly for what I do. That's not to say that I don't understand that Macs are good for some people, but they are definitely not for me. I can trust PCs, but the last time I trusted a Mac, it ate my project and my group spent 4 hours remaking the video we were working on. Thus the hypocrisy.

Well, I guess PCs just like you more, then. :-P

I'm superstitious as heck about computers, and some do seem to work better for some people. Odd.

It's one of the mysteries of the universe. *sage nods* (Seriously, I totally agree. I have seen people fumble on PCs and take to Macs like ducks to water, and make them do amazing things.)

I HATE those commercials too. But I think most commercials lately have been that way, have been using the same mean-spirted tactic. I'm kind of sick of the sick commercials these days. I just turn the volume down.

Well, none of them that I've encountered have been quite that mean-spirited. Some of the fast food commericals are close, but nothing quite as obvious. Ah, for the good 'ol days when just adertising how your product was awesome cut it, without anyone saying who the competition was, or how much they suck.

I hate MACs. OMIGOSH. I don't like the commercials either. I've had more problems with their new macs than I have hair on my head. We had to use them for one of my classes and they were slow (& had NOTHING on them) & did not like to do what they were told. The keyboards suck massively too.

Yeah, for some reason, my hands don't fit right on a Mac keyboard. It makes me feel like I'm typing on something meant for a person with much smaller hands. Odd, thought I was the only person bothered by the keyboards.

Their keyboards are tiny. I have tiny hands and it makes me feel like someone shrunk my keyboard. They aren't positioned correctly for proper usage. The alt button is in a funny position, making it difficult to use. The apple key should be where you least likely use it, not the alt key. The words on the buttons are in squinty-vision, Gamer keys are shoved up with all the other buttons, making it difficult to reach and difficult to find. o.O It's a conspiracy.

Well, I did like where the Apple key was, mostly because it serves as CTRL for a Mac keyboard. That is, when I remembered I was using a Mac, and did the key commands accordingly. *hit the Mac CTRL button repeatedly with no results, as it is a useless key.)
