Justice Delayed
“There is something unsatisfying about this case,” said Ziva.
They were standing to the side, not needed for what was possibly the team’s least-dramatic arrest. The handcuffs were just part of procedure - former Staff Sergeant Pearce was too frail to get far from his wheelchair even if he’d wanted to escape, and he hadn’t tried.
“Because he’s the last one left,” said Tony. “The victims’ families all died without knowing what happened to them, but he’s been living his life all this time. It doesn’t feel like justice.”
Gibbs watched McGee help Pearce into the car. “Better late than never.”
