Yesterday I got my glasses in the mail from Zenni Optical online.   The quality doesn't seem too bad for what I paid, $8 for one pair and $9.95 for the other, plus an additional $4.95 per pair for anti-glare coating.   Click to see them on my face:

First, my old glasses, purchased the traditional way awhile back.  You can't see it here because of ( Read more... )

Thanks! I'm wearing them today and now all of a sudden I'm washing my hands extra good every time I go potty so I have more time to admire myself in the mirror. :p

Gosh you're pretty! I don't think I've ever seen a pic of you, that I recall.

I like the blue frames, but keeping the man satisfied is important.

Did you send your prescription to this Zenni place? That's a great price, but I've never heard of them. I have a pretty heavy prescription. I wonder how that would work. I might have to check them out. Do they do sunglasses?

Thanks so much for the compliment! I've only just recently figured out how to get halfway decent pics of myself... never occurred to me to turn the camera around and watch the DISPLAY in the mirror. Duh... I'm just a little slow, I swear.

Zenni has a "form" online that you enter your prescription info into. You'll need to have your doc write down your "PD" measurement on your script, it's not usually on there by default.

When you say "heavy prescription" are you talking about the weight of the lenses or the complexity of the script? They do carry the thinner, lighter weight high-index lenses for a higher cost. I got the standard medium-index and they aren't noticeably heavier than my old glasses which were high-index.

And yes, they do have sunglasses.

I like the hipster frames, myself, but then they sort of resemble my own pair, so I may be just a little bit biased there!

I've had several positive comments about the hipster frame pic, so I think I am going to wear them to work tomorrow and see what my coworkers think.

I do like the way they look in the pic. I'm not sure what is different about real life... maybe it's just that I never smile when I'm looking at myself in the mirror.
