Music to Write By, BSG-style: Part 3

Jun 14, 2010 21:33

Yes, believe it or not, I need to make a third playlist post. (Well, not NEED per se, but I know there are at least several people on my f-list who are interested in this stuff, so ...) The last one was in January of this year, at which point the list had 112 songs on it and lasted 7.2 hours long. Now, as I type this, it's got 173 songs and spans ( Read more... )

*grin* I had to say it (or rather, the muse forced me to, hehe) .... ;)

Yay! :D Whenever I end up actually finishing this fic - which will hopefully be soon - I'll probably make a post with all the songs together and actually analyze in-depth to which characters they apply and in what situations. I think it would be an interesting exercise. But for now, you can content yourself with this. :)

Muse: Mwahahahahahaha. *grins and zips lips*
Me: *facepalm* She has perfected the art of the evil laugh. Sorry.

And yes, I definitely do, haha ... it most likely won't include lyrics, but the analysis will make it gigantic. Heh. (Yay for us being on the same wavelength musically-speaking!)

I love, love, loooooooove Paperweight. And Sex on Fire. And When You Say Nothing At All, even though it is so NOT the kind of music I usually listen to.

And you can never go wrong with Radiohead. ;)

I was actually introduced to Paperweight by a very dear friend of mine, so it's quite special to me for many reasons. :) It's funny you say that, because I wouldn't touch a lot of these songs with a ten-foot pole - too sappy/romantic-ish for my taste - but in the context of the fic, they WORK. Craziness. ;)

Definitely not! :D

Yey!!

I would recommend Lifehouse's first two albums for writing. I mean, No Name Face is just a great one and always puts me in the writing mood.
See "Breathing":

cheers.

Off topic comment first: I was going through my AIM convos folder (I had to stop because by the time I got down to 200 I just stopped caring, haha). Well I found some between us, and I thought, "Aww, I miss talking with that girl!" I know I'm never on, but I was curious if you were ever on anymore, because if you were I'd make an effort to get on more.

On topic comment(s) next: I love writing playlists. I even started one for my original work (well, the one story). My fan fiction is for fandom (though for B&S I have one generic one, and one for just my favorite couple). Of course my playlists are mainly typed up, and not in music format. I should do something about that, haha!

Sometimes, the moment I hear a particular song it will remind me of a character.I've had this ever since I started making fan vids. Even though I kind of outgrew that, I still do it, and sometimes make songfics now. Which is why my sis loves "Do I" by Luke Bryan, and why she always associates it with Kevin/Scotty. I know it's not normally your style ( ... )

P.S. I can't find the proof, but from my own experience and judging by how it looks, I think the icon you have credited to bitsy_icons is actually by bisty_icons. It took me a while to notice the difference in the names. I thought I'd raise it to your attention :).

Hee, thanks for the catch! Have now fixed it - gotta love typos. ;)

You're welcome! Haha, for sure :). And that one is definitely one of the easiest to make as "bisty" is not a common name or word, hehe!

Hey, I had to try and make sure I was still worthy of the title of your LJ best friend, LOL!
