that just strikes me as funny b/c it's true (or at least i gather from the flashbacks)

I suppose it depends on how you define 'consumate' because they've totally been having sex for years. They've just never let themselves admit to what it might mean or talk about it in any way. *shakes head* Men.

And I'm totally about the romantic nonromantic! *grin*

Jesus Christ. Between you and Pru tonight, I'm feeling wrung out and well used.

That. Was heartbreaking, and aching, and goddamn perfect. I have never, ever seen a more beautiful illustration of two characters absolutley stupid in love with one another. It should have been cloying and sickly sweet, and it wasn't at all. It was glorious.

The timing at the end...wow, that was a hell of a punch.

I loved this. Most especially the head-smack in the mess and the outburst that followed. But...this is fantastic, no matter how much it hurt.

Thank you, I try and pray that I *never ever* make them cloying and sweet, even while you know, proposing marriage. Because ick. I'm so glad to hear that the entire thing wrapped up and left you with the feelings I intended and felt while *writing* this puppy. It's gratifying at the very least.

And OMG yes, people are so silly, headsmack = LOVE, not abuse. Silly buggers. Haven't they ever watched NCIS?

This has so many layers that my heart can't even begin to process the laps its been made to run. All I can say is that you had me in tears and you had me laughing, and there was a mixture of both by the end. Amazing read.

Oh my god, this was achingly brilliant. It felt like freedom. John and Rodney were perfectly in char, as was everyone else, and the realistic handling of the entire situation makes it, like, the best fic ever. In regards to John, I was reminded of the song "Blackbird" and the lyrics "you were only waiting for this moment to be free/arrive. Blackbird fly." It was like he had been holding his breath his entire life, and was trying to learn how to breathe freely. And Rodney being cautiously hopeful in that "can we have this?" way, was just beautiful. And the sex. Oh my god, the sex. Hawt. Just. Guh. *decides to stop babbling at 3am for the good of the net*

*grins* That line? "It was like freedom" is one of the first lines I thought of when outlining this in my head. Though really, that entire scene where it resides was the first one I mapped out.
