:) Even as a supporter I thought about some things I had never before like how easy it is for some seriously effed up heterosexuals to get a marriage and then turning around and denying that to two committed people who just happen to be gay.
I agree with you. It really makes you think about love and marriage. I think that's why I like her speech so much. Not beautiful, but hits the nail right on the head.
I get totally frustrated when I see my totally committed friends unable to marry. When I could skip on down to courthouse anytime I wanted.
years ago. whe I married my daughters father...1980, i remember having a horrible giggle fit at the registrars office while we were filling out the paperw work. after all..it had been only womethin like 10 years or so since the law agains marriage bbetween "races" had been pronounced unconsitutional. Had I only realized this was going to come up in my life time. What really gets me is , the people who have their knickers in a twist about gays in general and yet they dont just leave the people the heck alone. ie ,makes no sense. as my mama used to say...it is nobodys buisiness who else someone is in bed with unless of course it is your bed or your spouses is in somebody elses... mama was amzingly practical that way!
