Ohmygosh! :((((((((((((((((((((( I'm going to miss you so much! *cries* I'm really happy for you, even though I really have no idea where Mapoon is, but ohmygosh! I don't think you're stupid but holy dooly I'll miss ya! I'd love to promise that I'll write but you know how slack I can be with that kind of thing! I don't think I should ever come to Brisbane - I think last time I came down here Jess got offered a job and left before I came back! This time I only just get back before you go! So I was going to say that I might have to take a raincheck on dancing this Friday night.. but seeing as it's probably our last Friday Latin night together.. do you want to go dancing? :D This is just so omg. Why couldn't they have offered you a job in Mackay!? Oh and I guess I should have seen this coming - seeing how certain you were that you'd have moved out by the end of the year! Ooh what did your parents say/think? Poor Bradley! (and others!) I'll talk to you more later I suppose. Tearfully yours.. Megan *in shock*
amanda! holy crap! congratulations. i admire that you're giving this a go...it might sound silly or judgemental (it might sound a whole number of things other than optimistic, really), but i don't think i could take a job in that sort of remote area. i admit i am a little concerned for you and so i hope you will keep in touch!
i hope that you enjoy the experience and i hope you find the work fulfilling and rewarding. it's going to be hard for you being so far away from all of your family and friends...being away from almost everyone, by the sounds of things! but you are a strong lady who has matured a lot over the past few years, and i am sure you can take anything life throws at you :) i have confidence that you will do well and make a fantastic contribution to that community.
best of luck, ♥ always Laura, Phillip, & Phillip James (there's a cd of photos of my son on it's way to your parents' post box at the moment...)
You better be going to Brisbane after all of this!!

Hey mandah, Decided to add to the comments on your posting. I have decided that country service is the way to go. As you know, Jeremy and I have plans to get to Brisbane. I hope that you consider that option as well since you know too many people in Mackay and need to get into a town where you can meet new people (after all of the country service of course!). I hope that you have a great time..... Make sure that you keep up dating you journal (don't forget an email or two as well). Jeremy and I really want to continue our contact with you.

Also, it's very near where one might start a very long (longest?) trek across Australia.
Have fun, be safe and stuff!
