i think my biking days are over (and saying that makes me whistle belle and sebastian) - at least for this year, and that's a bit sad

Never did borrow/acquire a bike whilst in London. It must've been all those corpses of unwary cyclists floating in the canals and lying by the roadsides that did it. ..ok no, but streets there are ridiculously narrow! I tend to be rather too cavalier upon me bike in Helsinki, so cycling never felt .. imperative in London. I expect I shall change my mind next time round, though, what with public transport in England failing on both accounts.

And - fishies? Apparently (he says in his best I-heard-this-somewhere-and-thus-am-an-Awthoritah -voice) the drains in Helsinki are built for larger volumes than produced by the current population. So you gotta take longer showers, otherwise the giant mutant albino crocodiles suffer from drought...
