thanks for the pictures and the update!! Looking at pictures on the free press website reminds of being a kid during the last comparable snowstorm in 77/78. Such happy memories of being off school and making snow forts!

Did you check your heating vents? I read something about carbon monoxide poisoning risk because of vents being blocked by snow. They had to evacuate a residence up at UWO when the CO2 detector alarms went off.

Thanks for the warning! After reading this comment I went out and made my way through the snow (no easy feat!) to the side of the house and found that the vent is completely clear - all the snow within a foot or so has been melted away by the warm air from the vent.

Yes, we have been reminiscing about that storm, which since then has only been surpassed by this one. What is nice about these storms is the camaraderie it brings out in people. When I was out shopping at the ValueMart (Richmond and Oxford) yesterday, I was waiting for the bus to bring me back home and started chatting with a woman waiting for the same bus. She remembered being in Grade 8 during that 77 storm, and how much fun it was.

Love the pictures - thanks! I am jealous too- loved those snow days. But now I am wondering if the weather will cooperate for our flight up there next thursday, and back again of course...

The weather forecast for the next week shows a probability of snow on 6 of the 7 days, but Wednesday of next week (the last day of the forecast) is for partly sunny and 30% chance of flurries. Looks as if things shouldn't be too bad. Anyway, whatever else may happen, there is sure to still be lots of snow on the ground!
