Notes: Um... Crack. =) And a tentative beginning to an original story with Tam-chan! XD
At twenty years old, John Maradon is the proud owner, manager, (but thankfully not housekeeping staff) and bar tender of the Peering Dragon Inn. Located somewhere close to everywhere (with a beach in the back, and a mountain to the front, depending on which door you use), he is very proud of the fact that it is the youngest inn of its nature in the entirety of the known worlds. Maybe. Well, his father decided to rent out extra rooms about twenty years ago, but his grandfather opened the club downstairs thirty years before, so John has never been quite sure if he should say the establishment was about fifty or just stick to the slightly safer twenty.
But all the side-tracked prattling aside, he loves his home and source of income. It has a story to it; everything always has some sort of story behind it, but this one is pretty special. Of course, to get the full story you would have to ask him. Only, right now I wouldn't bother with an attempt, because John's busy.
Very busy. Really.
You see, tonight, John has scored a date with the hot girl who had sat in front of him in his senior year Statistics class. The same one who he had kept tentative contact with even after graduation. Granted, 'tentative contact" meant that she came, almost exclusively, to his club (the only part of his establishment open to that world), but at least it was contact. Well, last Sunday, John finally screwed up the courage to ask her out, and she obviously took him up for that offer.
Note that John's usually not this pathetic when it comes to asking out girls. It was just the first time both of them were single when they re-encountered one another; their ability to pick up a new significant other within days of a disastrous breakup had even astounded Cora.
Cora, by the way, is John's best friend. Has been his best friend for almost longer than he cares to remember. She is younger than him, by a couple years, and is suffering through her last year of college. Unfortunately, John is oblivious to a lot of things about said best friend, including the real reason she's been "touchy" all week. If he had known any better, a lot of things might have been avoided, making John's life a lot easier in the coming times than it would have been otherwise.
Unfortunately, he is as oblivious as he is perfectly average. So tonight he'll be leaving his club in the capable hands of his best friend, and chaos will begin to brew. Oh, do you remember how I said that the story behind the inn was pretty special? Well, this "date" is a large reason why.
Haha. Well, maybe it would be easier for you to understand if you just follow the next year or so of young John Maradon's life. And try not to laugh at them, please, their idiocy is mostly human.
