Personally, I think Hamilton needs to visit the fanfic community and find a ghost writer. I could name a dozen people who write better porn than she does and another dozen who come up with more creative plot. She could hand off Anita and the monsters, give the person the general idea for the next book, get some fab erotic literature out of it, and share the proceeds 50/50.

And I would actually spend money on her books. Or at least buy them used. As it is, I gave up after book 3 in the series. After her on-line snits directed at her fans, LKH went onto my short list of authors I'll never read again.

*snerk* I haven't looked at the comic adaptation IRL, but I have seen some reviews of various issues that you might find amusing: Anita Blake vs. Dracula, Anita Blake vs. Batman, The Annotated Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #3, The Annotated Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #4, and The Annotated Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #5. Now, granted, you might not be that interested in snarking on the issues, but I found it cathartic, given what I/we know about LKH. ^_~

OMG! I love the snark! I've only seen a few pages from the comic, and I'm amazed that the art is even worse than I thought. Does everyone run around wearing shirts four sizes too small? With musculature that is only possible with genetic tampering?

I think part of my intense dislike for the series comes from disappointment. I love genre blending. Noir + supernatural should be cool. The premise is cool. The characters start off as cool. Yet, the final product is so very not cool.
