Vacation woes

Ok, they're not really woes -- I'm having a good time and relaxing.

Yesterday was a shopping day. We went to Ikea because my son needed some things for his new apartment and wanted our perspective on what to get. That went fairly smoothly.
Then we went to Mall of the Millenia -- a bit upscale for my tastes/means. Disappointing.
Then to Sci-Fi World. Unfortunately this store has changed, is mostly Warhammer and comic books.
I suggested that we go to my favorite -- Black Market Minerals at Fashion Square Mall -- only to find that it has closed.
Darn.
But a semi-successful shopping trip.

Food, not so good.
Sunday night, Chili's -- an empty restaurant, but we had to wait 35 minutes for a table, then face overly-air-conditioned atmosphere and so-so service.
Monday morning, Denny's -- nothing big but fortunately a quite filling breakfast when considering the remainder of the day. In addition, it was located next to the vet where Frodo had been boarded, so we could pick him up and take him back to the apartment.
Monday afternoon, Philadelphia Pretzel Factory -- after a large breakfast, we decided that a snack would be adequate until later in the evening and sought out this "new" place, driving around and around the shopping plaza, finally locating it and then heading to the door to find a sign stating "We apologize that we have had to close. Thanks for your patronage." SO back to apartment for snacks instead.
Monday evening, a Thai place where my son had eaten a few times. We drove up the road, were ready to make the left turn into the parking lot when my son remarked, "It's awfully dark." Anjee's reply was, "There are a few lights -- but is that police tape around it?" Who knows what happened there, but we ended up at P.F.Chang's instead.

Today -- Universal Orlando. Can't go wrong with roller coasters!

Oh, and a brief note: Frodo has to be the world's noisiest cat. He hates closed doors and meows outside them. I left my bedroom door open and he decided to sleep with me -- but every hour or so started to meow to reassure himself that I was there. This necessitated some skritches before I was allowed to return to sleep. Not the best night's sleep ever.
