thanks! it took a lot of coaxing and yelling in capitol park at that thing.

maybe i put up too many pictures, like 3 of you noticed/commented on these.

haha, you got it to pose for you by yelling at it?

i hate when people don't comment on things, i feel you on that bro.

i actually yelled at it to stop when it was going up the tree and then it turned around and was ready to jump down so i snapped it just as it was about to jump.

i don't mind the not commenting thing as much anymore but on this particular post, with pics i'd promised for awhile, and 13 of them that took awhile to put up, i'd just thought people'd notice. .:shrugs:.

very cool pictures -- but what are your friends building (if they are your friends)?

thanks! personally i think you take some cool pictures yourself.

every year there is a regional conference where different schools get together and compete in a concrete canoe or steel bridge competition. there's a southwest conference with schools from SoCal such as UCLA and Nevada and Hawai'i; the Mid-Pac conference here includes schools from the bay area, Sac, and Reno. The bridge has to be designed and built by students. Ways to compete— aesthetics, how long it takes a school to set it up following specific guidelines, and how much the beams will deflect when loaded with tons of steel. it's essentially a year-long project. in this picture some people from school are practicing in front of the capitol before the competition at sac state.
