You know, a spar or two is fine and dandy and all, but how many here really does want a war?

I'm pretty sure not everyone was--- is--- a soldier in their world, and having to fight each other because we were told to is... well, not really that unusual, but I don't really find a reason to do it. Aside from going home, but...Anyway, that's not the ( Read more... )

I did lots of things back home, but recently I've been designing lots of products to sell! I haven't been in a real war for almost seventy years, and I... really don't miss it. It's not nice having to deal with so many casualties.

But while I'm here, I guess... Well we have to do what our superiors tell us out of respect so I'm willing to fight if it means that'd lead to a solution.

Though it would be nice if we could all just get along!

Is that a long time ago for you? I, um, keep forgetting that we're all from different places...

... That's very sparkly. It reminds me eerily of Shuri. [Totally misses the point.]

I prefer communication myself, but none of us are the ones calling the shots here.

But adding reluctant soldiers into a fight they were never involved with sounds rather bizarre. Besides, if none of us are willing to fight, then why not try to fix relations, right?

I don't know... The superiors didn't seem like the negotiating type.

I believe there are few who ever truly want a war, but in some situations, there is no other feasible means of resolving things.

I have to wonder about the conflict here, however. That these nations should deplete their forces so thoroughly that they need us, and yet they think of nothing but continuing the war...it suggests that whatever drove them into this war to begin with runs incredibly deep.

...or perhaps that they are simply incredibly hardheaded. But I'm not in any position to pass judgment on that.

At home, I governed the city of Tahra in my late father's stead, though for a time I also left Tahra in my fiancé's hands, so that I could lend some assistance to the prince of Lenster and the army he led to liberate the Manster District.

That's true. I just find it strange that we're here to fight in a war we were never a part of. It's like asking for a rebellion to happen.

Then it's safe to assume you're a princess? I've never spoken to one before.

I'm honestly rather surprised one hasn't erupted. Then again, we run the risk of stranding ourselves here, and I imagine many of us would prefer not to risk that.

Ah, not a princess, I'm sorry. Tahra is independent, and not officially a part of any of the kingdoms that surround us. The only titles my family has ever claimed are those we've earned from our service in the church.

I guess so. Everyone still have real homes to get back to, so it's a good way of keeping their loyalty.

You're part of the church?
